The Parsonage, Haworth, Yorkshire was the home of the Brontë family for 41 years from when the family of 7, plus 2 servants, moved in in 1820 until Patrick Brontë, the sister’s father, died in 1861. To think in 41 years so much happened in that house on a hill in the depths of Yorkshire.
In 1928 Sir James Roberts acquired the house and donated it to the Brontë Society so the house could be used as a museum to store and display all the Brontë artefacts that had been collected by them over the years. The house now contains many original items including the very table the sisters sat around to write their novels and poems.
The Parsonage operates using money raised from visitors as well as donations but during the pandemic of 2020/2021, most of their income ceased.
Through The Brontë Sisters, I want to support the Parsonage and so will be donating some of the proceeds from sales to help keep this wonderful house open. I also urge you all to donate if you can to their Just Giving page. It all helps and one day soon I hope we will all be walking through the rooms and corridors of the Parsonage again.
